How long has it been?
There's a hole in his chest and a rage in his mind. His breathing was ragged, and as images flipped through his mind, a pain seared through his flesh like no other heat he'd felt. It's a pain that can only be accompanied with a scream, but his lips were sealed. Instead, he powered on, legs moving one paw at a time through this disfigured canyon, the thought of death being thrown in his face whenever his eyes decided to look downwards a few feet. Darius had never feared death, but rather thought that it wouldn't grip him until his mission had been accomplished. His family was marked with the burn of Cain, in that because of their dastardly and devilish deeds, they would only suffer with the loss of their royal son. The ghost of a prince would return one day to exact his revenge, and nothing would get in between him and his family until that moment. Only when Darius' teeth wrapped around the jugular of both his parents an siblings would he be satisfied. Sadistic, yes, but fair.
It's been three years.
His eyes glanced into the depths of the canyon, looking at the dying stream. Almost, he thought. Perhaps another ten minutes of traveling in this pit of despiar would bring him to succulent water. His throat was parched, and if he had tried to speak now, he was almost positive that no words woul come. He doubted his larynx was functional, and for that reason, he swallowed as hard as he could in an attempt to lubricate his esophagus. This canyon had been the same since he'd become his descent. He thought of vengeance, vendettas and large volumes of water to get himself through it all. His massive form was threatening in this place - rocks caved under his feet and some fell ontop of him. It was a miracle he had mad is this far. Although, there was an indecisive thought forming in his head - perhaps it was safer to be at the top than the bottom. There was no threat of rockslides up there, but the water was down here, as was flat ground and cooler air. He could survive down here for a while - perhaps for the rest of the day and into the night as long as no one found him or bothered him. It seemed simple enough - Darius had always been a man who belonged to the shadows after his close call with death. She makes too many exceptions. First she had allowed him to live after being beaten so closely to death, and now he had made it through this canyon of death with not a single scratch. Perhaps she loomed over him like an eagle, warding off any ill will until his mission was accomplished. Darius could easily believe it.
When his feet touched level ground, he paused. It felt wonderful to have solid, thick ground beneath his toes. No bit of happiness touched his body whatsoever. Long, strong legs carried him to the dying stream, his nose immediately dipping down into the quickly evaporating water, his tongue escorting as much of it as possible into his mouth. He felt like he drank gallons upon gallons before he finally pulled his head back up.
"Sweet relief," he breathed, his voice less hoarse than he had originally expected. "Sweet, sweet relief."

Normal, Thoughts, "Spoken Words", "Other(s)" Eclipse followed along at a distance. She had trailed the male for some time now, but had kept herself hidden from him. She did not wish to be seen, not yet, first she wanted to know where the large black and gray lupine was going. From what she could see, he was extremely big, but then again she was not close enough to tell his true size. She had trailed him across the Hell lands, and now he was taking her down into the canyons, a foolish place to be right now.
Eclipse had been out hunting for her breakfast when she happened upon the scent of an unfamiliar male in her home. The breeze carrie it downwind to her, and so she went in search of the source of the odor that greeted her nostrils. It did not take her long to find his big dark form among the light sands of her home, even one that was blind could have seen him. He did not seem at all concerned that he was in pack territory, nor did he seem to be in any big hurry, simply wandering along the landscape at whatever pace took his fancy.
But as she had followed him, he had taken her to the canyons, showing that he was deffinately not from these lands. Everone knew that there was little water to be had, and this was the hard way to get it. It would be far easier to make the trip to Drei River and drink from the waters that flow there. And the fact that he was clearly not from Hell should make the fact that it was unclaimed territory of little concequence to him. She watched as he made his way to the little remaining water and dropped his muzzle to the surface, lapping the liquid up with clear eagerness. When he was finished he lifted his massive head and spoke to himself...
"Sweet relief. Sweet sweet relief." Eclipse smiled to herself, how... cute. She decided that it was time to make herself known and stepped out behind him, eyes watching his frame for any signs of aggression. She really hoped that he would not decide to engange in a fight, she did not wish for that at the moment, she was in a rather laid back mood right now, and was more interested in what he had to say. He was quite handsome from the back, she had to admit. Her voice was smooth and sexy as she spoke.
"Quite refreshing is it not?"

It was amazing she had kept herself downwind for so long - not once while Darius was moving did he manage to catch sight or wind of her. She was good at being invisible, but that could easily ellude to other things that Darius didn't quite feel like touching on at the moment. Only when he spoke to himself did she decide to become vocal. He was shocked, yet, but not once ounce of it touched his large, obsidian frame as he stood upright and looked towards the female, his head being the only thing moving towards her direction. He looked menacing even while staying still - his short, dark coat concealing a multitude of well trained and built muscles. His golden eyes - oh, his golden eyes - were piercing as he looked upon the female. They held very little emotion, only a fire as bright as the hatred for his family - absolutely livid.
"Refreshing isn't quite an adequate word." His voice, easily just as sexy as the female's, was wrapped in a deep bass and articulation that is hardly matched. All in all, it's an attractive tone and is music to the ears. "But I suppose it's suiting for now." His voice was returning, thankfully. He wasn't much of a beast without it, especially when he didn't flaunt his physical prowess.
His body turned this time, completely facing the female. His body, wrapped in fine obsidian, was only accented by grey that touched longer fur on his chin, almost like a beard for a canine. It daintily sprinkled on his paws and the tip of his tail. Attractive was he to say the least with his broad chest and strong muscles and a body to swwon over. It was amazing he'd never taken a dame for himself, but the pain of a life of betrayl will do that to even the strongest wolf. His size and ego was most likely the reason he didn't care about diving into enemy territory, especially to one of the most dangerous places. But if it was so dangerous, it would be desolate as well, and that was pleasing. As for trumping through Hell territory - he had smelled the borderline as soon as he had walked in, but Darius had little care for others. If anyone got in his way he'd just do battle on his way to the bottom. Such was life.
His tail rose - dominant - and his head stood high as he looked at the female. His lips parted into a charming smile of surprisingly white teeth, all sharpened to rip the flesh of anything they dared to touch. If this female stepped in the wrong spots, she'd witness their strength first hand.
"What brings you here, milady? Certainly, such a fine, obsidian rose such as yourself shouldn't be squandering your time away with a menace such as myself." False flattery got him everywhere.

Normal, Thoughts, "Spoken Words", "Other(s)" As she spoke, the male gave no sign of suprise, but Eclipse had expected that. One that was so large and powerful was sure to have an ego that went along with his size, and with that came pride. Pride was not going to allow him to jump at the appearence of a smaller lupine, and it surely was not going to let him jump at the sudden apparition of a female. Eclipse smirked to herself at that thought, but sat watching patiently for his true reaction.
Only is massive head moved as he turned his face in her direction. The outline of his form, sculll turned to the side, against the canyon beyond was indeed a sight to behold. He looked like some kind of god that had stepped out of his lands in hell and into her hell. Eclipse was impressed, but she was not about to let that show, nor did it affect her the way that it might another female. She did not swoon, like some lesser fools would, simply sat there, bright eyes boring into his back.
When he finally spoke his voice was a good aproximation of how she had guessed that it would be. She had figured that it would be low and smooth, that was just the kind of voice that came with that kind of build. She was also sure that he had coaxed many a female into his bed by using it as a weapon. The sexyness that lurked in his tones was undenyable and inviting, but she knew that her own sweet notes could rival it on the female end of the scale.
"No, I suppose you are right, that would not be quite adiquate. But 'refreshing' works as well as anything."
This time he turned his whole body to face her. He truly was a huge brute, easily three times her size. His body was solid muscle that slid and glided beneath the skin as he moved to face her. She watched the muscles along his back shift, appreciating the strength that was found there, it could be good for a number of things... She smiled to herself. As his body turned she got to appreciate him from a number of angles, all of which she found to her liking. His fur was was obsidian like her own, but with grey mixed in in certain places. His tail had light sprinklings of the lighter color at is tip, as did his feet, but most of it was gathered at his chin, accenting the strong features of his face. It was handsome and strong, but not in the way that his body was. No, his face held the strenght of his emotions and determination. His eyes were golden and piercing as they looked back at her, boring into her.
"What brings you here, milady? Certainly, such a fine, obsidian rose such as yourself shouldn't be squandering your time away with a menace such as myself."
A smile played on his lips, revealing very white, and very sharp, teeth. So false flattery is the game is it? she thought to herself. She let her face smooth into an innocent expression, and her voice was smooth and soft, sensual as she spoke; her words flirting.
"Menace? I did not realize I was in such dangerous company. I hope that a handsome male such as yourself would not harm somone as harmless as I. Even were I to decide to eat you I should not think you are in any great danger."

Dangerous hadn't quite been what he meant. Although, perhaps, it could work. By menace he had meant something along the lines of intimidating, a pariah amongst members of society. He simply meant to imply that he didn't make friends well and was much more a loner than other rogues he'd run into just simply because of his intimidating factors. But dangerous worked. Darius liked being dangerous. When the female had claimed herself to be harmless, he couldn't help but laugh whole heartedly. Surely, she was joking, right?
"Your flattery falls of deaf ears the second you take me for an ignorant stranger. Don't lie to me, sweet demon. Harmless isn't a word one would use to describe any wolf bound by Hell's chains." His smile shifted from charming to demonic. She had assured him that he wouldnt be harmed if this wolf decided to get a little violent, and that he was almost sure of. The comment poked at his ego and made his expression shift from one used in casual conversation to one that made him look like he enjoyed watching his food cry and suffer before he finished eating it. His eyes darkened in a sadistic manner. He knew of all the packs - he'd been here for three years, he ought to have - and he didn't enjoy being lied to.
He advanced towards her, lowering his head to her eye level. The space between them was minimal and charged with electricity. It didn't bother him - he stopped seeing women as other creatures and just as tools for his own pleasure. He flared his nostrils and breathed in deeply. Her sent was delightful, the smell of the lands she lived in and he traveled through. Hell reeks of the dead and damned, and it made Darius's sadistic self salivate. He blinked once, and then got to the point at hand.
"Tell me, my lying angel, why have you been following me? And choose your words carefully, darling. I'm sure you have plenty of bite, but your puppy mind has yet to dive into the world of adulthood and your teeth have yet to sharpen enough to rip into my flesh. You're lucky I'm quite fond of you already, pup."

Well, that changed things. All pretnce of innocence dropped from her face, and her eyes burned with irritation. She did not appreciate being called a pup, no matter how small she might look to him. She glared back, standing her ground as her advanced on her. He moved untill there was little space between them, and yet she did not back down, it was not in her nature. She knew she was likely playing with fire, but she did not care; so was he.Head held high she looked him in the face with burning eyes.
Standing, she brushed past him as she spoke. "How could I resist the chance to meet such a charming brute? Why would I not want to know why he is in my lands? However I don not believe that 'fond' is a word of which you know the meaning. You think I am of some use to you, that is it, is it not?"
With these last words she walked beneath his chin, brushing his chest and flicked his muzzle with her ample tail, then turned back to look at him. Her expression showing nothing but polite interest.

When her innocent facade fell from her face, he smiled internally. Yes, drop all the lies, wench. I've no time for your petty games. Playing with fire was possibly an understatement, he felt. Darius was a ticking time bomb. It took the right words or the right expression to throw him int a frenzy, bringing about personal issues about how he had everything and it just slipped out from under his fingers - and why the fuck should you be so happy? There'd be tears and pain and bloodshed. You had to be dainty around him, even though he seemed completely in control of his emotions and his wellbeing. He teetered on the edge often, though, and being lied to had started to edge him closer to the edge.
My father lied to me, he'd tell her if she kept it up. I had everything, he told me. But he left me to die. I'm tired of lies, so speak the truth, you pathetic wretch. His internal monologue didn't surface, however, and his glare remained even and he stayed still, not a single trace of conflict touching his body. In control, yet so close to breaking. He was like porcelain.
Her words bore into his ears, and as she spoke, he broke them down. Charming? At least his facade was aiding him for the better. As to her questioning of his use of the word fond, he lifted his head after her tail grazed it ever so gently in an alluring way. He didn't react much. Flirtation was an act he used upon women, not the other way around. It was the woman who stood still why he took advantage, and he was a dominant one. He felt like a little child as she 'harmlessly' flirted, and inside, he growled. But he played along.
"Would you have prefered if i Had used the world partial? I have an inclination towards yu, milady. You angel of death, you hellbound creature, you. The pugnant smell of death and decay lingers to every fiber of your being - its intoxicating. Malicious intent seeps through every oriface of your delicate yet strong frame. It's attractive and alluring as I'm sure you'd enjoy to hear." He chuckled slightly, almost maliciously."Tell me the truth," he cooed. "Once you tell one lie, I cannot trust your word from then on. But if you tell me the truth, I can certainly trust you, perhaps even throw my own existence into your hands. If I am truly so handsome, am I not a prize to be desired? Let myself be your motivation, my darling. Tell me the truth."

Normal, Thoughts, "Spoken Words", "Other(s)" Eclipse let a small smile grace her lips as he pulled his head away from her touch. He was without a doubt used to being the one that made the moves, not the one that they were made upon. She took a few steps more before she turned to face him and sat her bottom on the ground.
"Would you have prefered if i Had used the world partial? I have an inclination towards yu, milady. You angel of death, you hellbound creature, you. She listened to his words watching him with interest. He really was a very accomplished smooth talker. She sat up straight and pushed her chest out slightly to show her figure to full avantage. Her coat shimmering in the light that reflected into the canyon. Her eyes glowing like molten amber against her obsinian features.
"Not a false word has crossed my lips my dear. I want to know what such a sweet talking demon is doing in my lands. How would I find that out if I did not follow him?"

Not a false word.
He stood as tall as he could , head held high and tail erect in a dominant fashion. His sadistic smile had faded from his lips, instead they remained sewed together as he watched her in silence. Her eyes didn't dart, her breathing remained even, and she didn't fidget any - there was no clue to prove that she was lying, only his gut instinct. His upper lip curled partially.
"You could inquire in a polite manner. I'm sure you're quite civil when you desire to be. After all, who wouldn't want to talk to a succulent angel such as yourself?" His expression softened as he spoke, attempting to keep the moderately friendly air between them. He'd keep his cool even though daily the ice cracked with conversation and meeting others. It was good he was nearly impossible to read - if any part of his facade cracked, the dam would break and everything would come flooding out. Now, Darius couldn't afford to kil anyone he saw just because he saw it fit. There was a reason he kept secrets behind emotionless eyes.
As for this female - he was being stretched thin. He had expected to send her on her own way by now - usually people were scared to talk to him wih his nasty smile and too polite words that obviously had to be hiding something. But this woman played with him just as he played with her. It was admirable, to say the least, but it was growing old. Darius would have to retire or find a comfortable level to cruise at for the rest of this conversation. His facade was much like a battery, it only had a certain charge and if you did any damage to it, it wouldn't work anymore. The only reason he hadn't left yet was because this female was interesting, but it was as he expected from those chained to Hell. Minions of a darker purpose and darker nature. He should have belonged here, but he wouldn't find himself at some lowly rank for the sake of fitting in somewhere. I'm a Prince, he'd roar in front of everyone. And I deserve the world tht was promised to me.
But that was reserved for another day.
"If you must ask, milady, I am but a rogue investigating those of similar nature to myself. I hear much about you Hell wolves, and nothing good. THough perhaps, maybe that's left to perspective - for instance, you seem absolutely lovely to me." He smiled again, but it fell once more. "They told me the canyon is desolate and that very few traverse through here. What brings you to an undesired placed just to follow one lonely stranger?" Manipulate the conversation for your own good - it was how he'd remain stable since this female wasn't about to go anywhere anytime soon, and neither was he.

Normal, Thoughts, "Spoken Words", "Other(s)" Eclipse sat looking back as he surveyed her, she knew that he was looking for lies. He would not find any though. She had to admit that it was unusual that she had not twisted the truth thus far in the conversation, but up to this point she had been honest with him.
She sat quietly and listened to his speech. Though his body language gave nothing away, she suspected that he was getting tired of her presence and wished to be rid of her. Not a chance brute she thought to herself. She knew that others probably fled from him at the first opportunity, but she was not one of them. She had never been one to scare easily.
He was quite well spoken, and she had to marvel at how smoothly the pleasing words fell from his mouth. They were all false of course, but she enjoyed the game none the less. She knew better than to fall for the complements and sweet words that fell from his maw and think them to be more than the manipulation that they truly were.
"Who was it that fed you such information? It is true, but I would like to know where you found such information. Who is it that has been speaking of our... reputation? Wether we are good or bad depends on what side of the fence you reside on yourself. I suppose if you are a prissy little heaven or earth wolf we would look quite fearsome. Some of us more so than others. Any stranger in my lands is something to be looked into. It looks like I got lucky and stumbled upon a handsome prize."
She knew that he was trying to turn the tables on her once again, and that her answer was not what he was looking for, though she was not exactally sure what he was looking for. Another stroke to his ego and a soft smile was all she had for him.
