crow
the brute stared through the forest, eyes glowing with angst and wonder. He wasn't sure if he was ready to join pack life, or be burdened with the responsibility of having to hunt for the entire pack.. 'No, I can't turn my back now. I've make a commitment.'
And so, he started forward, eyes focusing on the path before him and ears erect. There were so many sounds and smells, they all consumed his body and gave him a chill, the thought of someone being close giving him a small surge of anxiety. If he was to stay, he wanted nothing more but to be accepted into the family that this pack had probably created.. though he was quite aware that acceptance took quite a lot. Crow was a very respectful man, so he knew that getting on everyones good side wasn't a problem. The thoughts rattled in his mind as he moved forward, the breeze catching in his nostrils and filling his lounges with air that he quite enjoyed. If he was a cat, he'd be purring. Oddly enough, he sounded quite like that. His throat made an echo, scratchy sound within him. crow came to a 'fork' in the path, where he slowed and sat his rump to the cold ground. The white brute sighed, before listening to his stomach roar at him, and then his body jolted up. 'I think I need food. Maybe make a friend along the way..' he started forward once more, a small smirk staying on his lips. He didn't want a lot to eat, maybe a rabbit or rodent. An unsuspecting victim. And it wasn't long for him to find just what he was looking for. A tiny little rabbit sat staring at the sky, nose twitching at the smells that surrounded it. Calmly, the wolf sat back on his haunches, amber eyes, once more, glowing in angst and anticipation. This little rabbit was truly unsuspecting of his presence, though he was not being the quietest of creatures. Did he feel bad? Of course. Taking an innocent rabbit's life was not something he enjoyed doing.. but how else was he to survive? it didn't take him long to make his move.. a quick pounce and snap of his jaws and crimson poured into his mouth and a lifeless body hung from his maw. For a single moment, he stood without word, his mind caught up in a small prayer. As he had heard through the grapevine, most wolves respected the animals on earth and nature but needed to survive, and so they would pray. He respected that, actually knew it made sense. And so, he did. After his prayer, the male let the body slip from his lips as he looked down upon it, the tiny white rabbit now covered in blood and torn apart. In an apology, Crow nuzzled its side. And as quick as his sympathy had come, it disappeared and his jaws clamped onto the already torn skin of it's neck. Bloodshed.. ripping skin.. For a moment he was so caught up in his meal, he almost missed the arrival of another wolf. Someone watching him. He would have missed it if it wasnt for the low grumble of what sounded like a stomach. Nonchalantly, he chuckled, standing up and turning to face it. his lips pulled back in a smile, "You do not have to lurk in the shadows. If you would like to join me, just ask.." he murmured to the mystery wolf, raising an brow. "You are hungry, no? Come now, eat up." he knew what it was like to be hungry and have no one there to help out. A meal was a meal; and he was a hunter. He provided for those he lived with. And so, he stepped aside and opened up an opportunity for the other to dig in. [/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] Word count: 648

regular, speech, thoughts, other(s) The sunlight filtered through the trees, filling the forest with a golden haze. It danced off of the golden, red, and brown hued leaves that were strewn about the ground and those that still clung to the branches on the trees. Small bugs zipped too and fro through the air going about their buisness, uncaring about the cold that was moving its way across the land, most of them would not live that long anyway. Small critters skittered among the leaves collecting nuts and berries that had fallen, and stocking them in hidey-holes for the long months of winter. A cool breeze blew, just enough to rattle the leaves. It held the scents of fall, and the promise of colder weather to come in the not so distant future.
Riversong had awoken as the first rays of the great ball of light in the sky had kissed the earth. It had been cold enough to see her breath billowing out of her delicate nostrils as if she had a fire in her belly. She almost wished she had just that as a shiver shook her small and slender frame. She had taken a trip to a place that she knew of that was a wonderous spot to watch the sun rise. Coming up over the horizon in all different hues, ranging from brilliant red and orange to dep purples and vibrant pinks. Normally she would have gone to the bluffs, but at the moment they were flooded, and it did not look as if the waters were going to recede any time soon. But it was alright, all was well in her little world. The sun shone bright and cheery, and it had warmed up a bit.
River supposed that she might as well do something constructive while she was out. She padded through the forest silently. Her elegant legs carrying her body with an unknown grace and beauty. After a while of wandering she happened upon a small white rabbit. He was a pretty little thing and she would feel bad for killing it, but she was starving by now. She tracked it for a long time, and had let it get some way infront of her when the form another lupine appeared. He looked as if he was stalking the same animal, and River sat back to watch. He lept gracefully and killed the rabbit mercifully fast and without a sound. Taking a moment, his head bowed and he prayed over it, which impressed her. Most of the males that she knew did not take the time nor have the patience for such things.
He sat admiring his catch, and then tore in. River's mouth began to water as she watched him take bites from the warm carcas at his feet. As the scent of the kill his her senses, her stomach gave a loud protest. Glaring down at it, she looked up to see that he had paused in eating his meal, and rather than a frown or defensive look, his handsome face held a soft smile.
"You do not have to lurk in the shadows. If you would like to join me, just ask..You are hungry, no? Come now, eat up."
After a moment of hesitation, River stepped out of the shadows and into the clearing and a small patch of sunlight. The beams of light turned her pelt to iridescent silver as she moved tentetively out of her hiding place. The amber eyes were soft and bright as she looked back at the male before her. She was delicate and slender, yet somehow not 'mushy'. Her muscles flowed smoothly beneath her coat as she stepped soundlessy into the light and sat down, curling her tail daintily around her forepaws. She was gorgeous, but she was clueless of the fact. Her voice was soft and melodic as she spoke.
"I do not mean to take your dinner, I am sure I can catch something. I am Riversong, it is a pleasure to meet you."
She looked back at him shyly, a slight smile on her lips.

crowWHAT IF THE DEVIL WAS ALIVE WHAT IF GOD DID NOT EXISThis eyes rested upon the female, and another brow raised to her. The white wolf sat back a bit, examining her quietly and tilting his head to her words. "I do not mean to take your dinner, I am sure I can catch something.."
at that thought, he shrugged and readied to turn back to his meal.. but a part of him protested the idea, and he just let out a tiny sigh. The male was much too nice to sit there and eat in front of her; that was plain rude. And honestly, he couldn't do that. However, he cautiously lowered his head and anchored his ears just as she introduced herself, and her name was Riversong. Well, such a beautiful female held such a beautiful name? Of course he just nodded his head and then turned it off to the horizon, taking in a deep breath and exhaling it seconds in between. Crow wasn't quite sure how to respond to her.. she was being modest. There was a weird feeling caught in the males mind, had she been eyeing this rabbit before? "I'm sure there is enough for the two of us, it's a nice rabbit. Not very big, but built enough for two, no?" Crow flashed her a smile, and slid his body to the side, nodding off to the rabbit once more. He wasn't going to mention his name, considering he didn't know her at all and she could be anyone. Was her name really Riversong? Was she truly apart of the Earth pack? Mentally, he sighed and just gazed up at her.. yellowing eyes full of wonder and curiousity. Although, he couldn't keep quiet for long. "Well, ma'am, my name is Crow. Of the outsiders who lived on the land beyond this place," he wasn't used to introducing himself, so he was unaware of what he should say or do. "Achem.. but it's a pleasure to meet you, Riversong. I'm assuming you're a part of this pack? Maybe the Heaven's, perhaps? ...Or a Rouge!" the male stood up and tilted his head again, before swallowing hard. Now he was just going to embarass himself.. sighing, the white wolf leaned over the carcas and pulled off what he could. The male turned to the female with a blood maw, pieces of the white rabbit hanging from it. He nudged it to her, and dropped it at her feet. Crow was trying to be friendly, though he wasn't sure how to do that exactly. Of course, he was such a gentleman and refused to let the lady have to catch her own food. That was his job. "...none the less.. I am a hunter anyway, dearest Riversong. It is my job to support the others. And I take pride in that," he chuckled at how silly he sounded. 'Oh well.' he thought, as well. This female didn't seem eager to eat his meat, however, and he was a little insulted, though he said nothing. Curious to know if she might if it was right in front of her. "Go on. Dig in. It's delicious!" [/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] Word count: 518

regular, speech, thoughts, other(s) The male seemed to be kind of disconcerted by her words. She had not meant any offense, she simply had not wanted to take his dinner and leave his belly empty. She was the kind that always thought of others before herself. She looked at him with an unspoken apology in her eyes. She did not wish to make him uneasy or hurt his feelings. His handsome white head lowered, ears pinned back, and he looked away as she introduced herself.
He was handsome. He had a long lithe body that was coverd in a pelt of white with black smudge marks all over him. Riversong met his eyes and noticed that they were a clear and sparkling amber, and smiled at him, giving a new kind of soft beauty to her already pretty face.
"I'm sure there is enough for the two of us, it's a nice rabbit. Not very big, but built enough for two, no?"
River looked down at the meal in question and the nodded her assent. There was a long pause in which he seemed to be debating on something. River sat wondering if she had made a mistake in telling him who she was. He did not seem obliged to return the favor, and he looked as if he was not sure if she was telling him the truth. Just as this thought crossed her mind, he spoke again.
"Well, ma'am, my name is Crow. Of the outsiders who lived on the land beyond this place,Achem.. but it's a pleasure to meet you, Riversong. I'm assuming you're a part of this pack? Maybe the Heaven's, perhaps? ...Or a Rouge!"
Riversong smiled once again. He was charming and sweet. He seemed to be nervous in her presence, and she hastened to put him at ease; eminating an air of relaxed peace. She replied as she moved closer to him with small tentative steps.
"I am of Earth, a hunter for the pack. I was out to see the sunrise thismorning, and was looking for prey on the way home and here I am."
She grinned at him. After taking a bite of it himself, he nudged the rabbit closer to her paws and bid her to eat. Riversong couldn't fight it any longer. Her eyes met his and sent a message of thanks before she tore into the meal with a vengence. It was a few minutes before her hunger had ebated enough that she remembered the male and lifted her head, blushing.
"I'm so sorry, how rude of me. Its just I was starving and it tasted so good and it was a lovely meal in the presence of pleasurable company."
The words came out in a rush, her melodic voice a bit breathy. She met his eyes waiting for him to snap, cringing slightly. Surely he thinks I am a rude pig now she thought to herself.

'She's mighty pretty..' the male thought as he gazed at the female through yellowing eyes. Her words rattled in his mind once she spoke, and there Crow nodded and offered her a smile. The gentleman let out a small sigh and stood, stretching out his back legs and then sitting down once more. His worries were set aside now, however, knowing she was one of the Earth members.. although knowing she was a hunter made him feel a little bad for pressing her to eat. As hunters, it was there job to provide. Clearly she hadn't the chance to do that for herself yet. "Well, pleasure to meet you, fellow hunter. I'm sorry if I obtruded on your hunt.. I seemed to have snagged what you were eying,"
he felt as though an apology was needed, even if she did or not. There was a quick moment of stillness that the white brute didn't admire much, though soon enough the female was digging in to the meal without hesitation, taking her prize. Moments before, he had heard a tiny grumble come from his own stomach, but couldn't help but keep a smile on his face. Patiently, he awaited her to come back to reality and it didn't take very long. The chocolate smudged female lifted her head and seemed to look embarrassed, just putting a bigger smile on his face. "I'm so sorry, how rude of me. Its just I was starving and it tasted so good and it was a lovely meal in the presence of pleasurable company.."[/s] The look on her soft face wasn't pleasant, almost frightened. And although Crow was planning on teasing her, he bit his tongue and shrugged his shoulders.. before a brilliant smile appeared on his face. "You act like you've killed someone, darling. Don't fret. It's a rabbit, made for two, no?" he repeated his earlier words in hope to put the females mind at ease. With that, he pulled the remainder of the rabbit towards him and started finishing off the small bits of meat she'd missed. Which, though not much, had quenched his hunger quite a bit. When done, the male plopped down and tore off a rib, tiny, though enough to chew on for now. Once more, he judged it to her and offered it. Nothing went to waste when he was around.. The bones just made a good after snack; quite an enjoyable one, too. It tasted of lingering blood and flesh, and even the bone was nice to chew on when bored. Crow hesitantly looked at her, "Come, sit. Talk with me. I apologize for any earlier tenseness you felt. I'm far from familiar with these lands or the wolves inside of them. My only knowledge is to caution at the prescence of those in Hell and who roam freely.." [/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] Word count: 470

regular, speech, thoughts, other(s) Riversong let her delicate pink tongue slip out and clean the reminants of her meal from her silver-gray muzzle. Her tummy 'glurped' softly in satisfaction at the meal that she had just eaten. She looked back at the handsome male before her with soft eyes and curled her tail back around her front paws.
"Well, pleasure to meet you, fellow hunter. I'm sorry if I obtruded on your hunt.. I seemed to have snagged what you were eying,"
She looked at him with a sweet smile gracing her features. There was no need for him to apoligize, and yet he did. He truly was different from all of the other males that she had come into contact with. Crow was handsome, sweet, and very caring from what she could see. He had already fed her, and she had only been here with him for a short time.
"It is perfectly alright. After all, who could resist such a nice meal when it hops right into your paws?
His smile was big as she lifted her face from the meal. Her appitite seemed to amuse him more than disgust him.
"You act like you've killed someone, darling. Don't fret. It's a rabbit, made for two, no?"
An answering smile spread tentatively across her face. Riversong relaxed, feeling at ease in his presence. She enjoyed his company and the easy conversation. She was not accustomed to getting along so easily with somone. He was not trying to escaper her company, nor was he trying to dominate the conversation as others as often did. He had not let a mean word cross his lips, and she somehow knew that he would not mock her in the future either.
She watched as he bent his magnificent head and cleaned the last of the meat from the bones. A small pang of regret hit her, she did not want to part ways from him just yet. A frown darkened her face and brought a touch of sadness to her eyes. He tore a rib from the carcas and settled himself ab=mong the leaf-clutter.
"Come, sit. Talk with me. I apologize for any earlier tenseness you felt. I'm far from familiar with these lands or the wolves inside of them. My only knowledge is to caution at the prescence of those in Hell and who roam freely.."
A small thrill ran through her. He was asking her to stay. Her face lit up, eyes sparkling in delight. She also took a rib from the rabbit and lait befor him, her long for streatched out, slender and magnificent in the afternoon light. Silver, tan, and ash gray tones danced through her pelt and sparkled in the dappled sunlight. Her golden orbs took in his magnificent form before her. God, he's handsome! she thought to herself.
What is it that brought you to the Earth pack? You are well informed to avoid the hell wolves and those that roam wild, though you could handle anything that came your way I am sure. Surely a handsome male like yourself has a mate?
She became suddenly interested in the bone as she asked the last question. She knew it must seem nosey, but couldn't resist asking.

"What is it that brought you to the Earth pack? You are well informed to avoid the hell wolves and those that roam wild, though you could handle anything that came your way I am sure. Surely a handsome male like yourself has a mate?" her words had made the males ears prick upward in curiosity. A mate? The male chuckled and shrugged his broad shoulders, taking another rough bite of the bone. Crows black smered maw pulled back in a smile, and he gazed at her through light hearted orbs, not truly knowing how to respond to her question. His large harks focused on her as he took his eyes down and began to work on the bone once again. Mind swirling with wonderous thoughts and then it trailed to Saoirse, who was currently out with Hatter. Another moment of silence, and the male brought his eyes to the river, yellowing eyes captured by it's clear beauty. The few moments of silence seemed painful inside his chest, until he spoke, "I have been informed by an enemy about the Hell's and the Rogues, my dear. Hah.. an enemy. I do suggest staying away from those Hell's, they have quite a few... brutal females among them, though I figure you already know," eyes shifting at the thought of Fever, the white male shrugged.
Then he thought back to her question about the mate, and he cleared his throat, "No, miss. I hold no mate. I have waited this long for someone true and beautiful. One who may not have virgin thighs, but is new to love. I hold my heart open to all, but the captor of it is non existant." with a playful smirk, he looked about her in a teasing mannor. "So, I suppose the key to my heart is still up for grabs." another shrug, and he pulled another bone from the tattered body of a once beautiful rabbit. Crow nibbled on that for a few moments, wondering what other questions she might have for him. He couldn't help but admire her beauty. The yellow-eyed male licked his chops, crossing his feet together and stretching his neck against them, aching bones cracking as he did so. The morning was so beautiful, he noticed. The breeze furrowed his coat and sent small chills down his spine, a thrill he enjoyed. The cold was a blanket for him, for he loved thinking that winter was approaching. The leaves fell around them, actually, the sun peaked through the naked trees now, against his white pelt and warmed his insides. The contradiction of the breeze and the sun actually relaxed his tired body.
"So, my darling, tell me about yourself. Where is your man at this fine hour?"

regular, speech, thoughts, other(s) River first picked all of the meat clean from her bone, and then began to knaw at it daintily. She could not bring herself to look the hansome male in the eye after asking such a bold question, but she really wished to know if his heart was taken by another. The sillence that dragged out seemed to be his answer, her heart seemed to fall to her toes. But why? Why should she be bothered that he had a mate? She barely knew him. She pushed the thought aside, just as he spoke.
"I have been informed by an enemy about the Hell's and the Rogues, my dear. Hah.. an enemy. Riversong's heart seemed to skip a beat. She knew that she should not care one way or the other, but she was glad that he was not spoken for. He was sweet and kind, and there was something about him that spoke to her.
"So, my darling, tell me about yourself. Where is your man at this fine hour?"
Her heat gave another skip, maybe he cared if she was taken as well. That is to much to hope for, why would he want me? she thought to herself.
"My heart is my own, no male has yet stolen it. Maybe a handsome male will find the key."
Once again she was suprised at her own outspokeness. She hoped that he would pick up on the compliment that she had paid him, and that she didn't look too foolish. Her amber eyes met his and danced with mischief and happiness. She was happy to be here talkng with him, and having a fine snack. He made her happy.

"Such a shame," the male said, smiling thoughtfully and looking to her, "the males are missing out on quite the treasure."
He shrugged, not quite ready to open anything up yet. He had only just met the female. 'Ah well. Maybe soon.'
|
Calmly, he sat up, bone sticking out the side of his mouth, and head lifting a bit. Crow gazed at the skies, that graced the lands now. Sun burned bright and lit up the bright blue texture. Large and distinct clouds scattered the sky, as well. They were huge - - like pillows. White male chuckled, looking to Riversong again. "Do you think, if it were possibly to lay on a cloud, it would be comfortable?" the random question was a conversation starter. When you were around him, you were usually never bored. He liked the small talk they were making - - it was interesting, as of now. The thought was actually a serious one, to him. Clouds were far from tangable, but he imaged their fluffiness entangling him and allowing him the perfect slumber.. something he rarely ever experienced. He could picture the cloud forming against his curves as he lay, consuming him completely with a blanket, as well. Ears tipped down a bit, then back up as the clouds passed over the sun. "I imagine that would be unreasonably comfortable. Anyone who had the chance would probably die of bliss." He chuckled again, grabbing the bone that had fallen from his maw and snapped it in half, tongue rolling over the smaller piece that was completely covered by his mouth. Then, he shrugged, starting to crunch on the bone, as it was now more of a soft treat than actual bone. Crow wanted something to do, and so he looked around, another small smile creeped on his lips. The river was quite beautiful at this time.. the trees leaned over the river, yellow and orange and red leaves falling through the breeze. "How romantic," he said to her, turning his body, "our prize is gone. Care to take a walk down the river with me?" voice was soft and sweet, before he turned his head to her. "You remind me of a songbird, and so I shall call you song instead of River for shirt, if you do not mind."

regular, speech, thoughts, other(s) "Such the shame, the males are missing out on quite the treasure."
Riversong dropped her gaze, if it were possible, she would have blushed. She was not used to such compliments, but found that she liked the sound of them. She was suprised at herself, she had never thought of such things.
"Nothing extraordinary, just me." she murmered. She really did not see what was so special about her, but she was glad that he thought that way. If he really did think that, maybe it was just flattery, but she doubted that. She was sure that he was not thie kind to say words with no meaning.
"Do you think, if it were possibly to lay on a cloud, it would be comfortable?"
Through her musings, his voice came pleasantly again. Her eyes drifted up to the sky above where the fluffy white objects in question floated, and then came to rest on his handsome face once again. She smiled and let her imagination guide her answer.
"I imagine that it would be warm and amazingly soft. The sun always keeping them warm, at just the right temperature. Her eyes closed in bliss at the thought, face tilting towards the sky. And soft, fitting itself to your body, like a pile of the softest feather down. Making you feel weightless and filling you eith a peace that we will never find walkng around down here." Her voice was soft and whimsical.
Coming back to her senses, she looked back at Crow and smiled in apology for her runaway mind. She picked up her bone and began chewing at it, breaking it open and licking the soft tasty marrow out of the center. Lifting her head, she watched as the leaves fell all around them.
"How romantic, our prize is gone. Care to take a walk down the river with me?"
Riversong nodded and pulled herself gracefully to her feet. Slowly she streatched each leg and shook out her pelt, making the silver hues dance in the light.
]"You remind me of a songbird, and so I shall call you song instead of River for shirt, if you do not mind."
She smiled at him, she was happy that he saw her that way.
"Yes, I think that would be fine."
