Alexander had to admit, he felt a little bad for getting the pup up so early every morning. However, he was the general. His militaristic scheduling was something he held very dear to his heart - though the pup was even closer. He walked slowly to the tall tree where, months ago, he had found said pup. Within days he had fallen for her, though he denied any affections vehemently. The very worst thing one could ever do was to let others know you had weaknesses. "Alright, Nessie, he said as he set down the pup in a short crop of grass. The name had been given to her not a week after he had found her. It had come... very naturally. He knew he shouldn't have named her, but after he had done it, it felt right. She was Nessilia. His Nessilia.
"Today, you need to practice your hunting." He said matter-of-factly. "And there's no getting around it. Now, what is the first step?" He coaxed, ears and head lifted as he looked down to his daughter. The terminology for the tiny creature was still very weird to him. But, she was his daughter, there was no slapping on other titles like intern or under-general. Even if he had skipped the part about a mate and conception and all that, he had a daughter.
The best thing that had ever happened to him.

Normal, Thoughts, "Spoken Words", "Other(s)" Nessilia yawned as Alexander caried her into the meadow. As he dropped her into a clump of soft grass, she slumped to the ground, and then slowly pushed herself up into a sitting position with tiny paws. Looking up at him through half lidded eyes, another yawn escaped her tiny maw.
She loved the big wolf that had been there since her eyes had opened. He was her guardian and savior. He was her daddy. She knew that no matter what happened, he would not let anything happen to her, and that he would take care of her no matter what. Just now she wished that she was still in their den, encircled in his warmth and protection; fast asleep. He seemed to have some love of getting up early that she did not understand, nor much appreciate.
"Today, you need to practice your hunting. And there's no getting around it. Now, what is the first step?"
Heaving a sigh, she lifted her nose to the air and scented it as if looking for prey. Knowing there would be nothing here in the open, she moved to the next step and dropped gracefully into a stalking crouch. All of her weight on her paws, muscles bunched to spring forward at any moment. Suddenly she spotted a prey that she wanted. A bright blue and black butterfly had landed on a blade of grass a few feet away. Slowly and soundlessly she inched forward in her crouch, tiny paws making no noise as they met the ground. When she was close enough, she transferred all of her weight to her back legs and lept for the kill, landing with delicate paws over the winged creature. As she lifted a pink pad to look at her trophy, it flitted out of her hold and off into the air just above her head.
Jummping to her feet, she chased it, paws slicing through the air, jumping in pursuit. Giggles of joy escaped unheeded from the small ball of fluff. She had completely forgotten her task, and the presence of the one who had assigned it.
