It was early evening, turning to dusk, the sun was low beating its heat down onto the red sand. The young female stalked her prey up the narrow stream, it had no where to go, the water was almost dried up and high red walls lined the valley. Sprinting forwards in a jet of energy outburst, she lunged at the baby deer, taking it by surprise, capturing it in her jaws. One bite was enough, she ripped through its throat, blood splattering her pretty mottled face. She ate slowly, picking at bits here and there, constantly looking around warily, some one was watching her. She knew the Hell boundary was close to here somewhere, perhaps she had strayed to close, or maybe it was just a curious rogue trying their luck with her kill. She didn't know who it was, they never showed themselves, but she could feel eyes burning into her.
Some would ask why such a beautiful Heaven female was doing hunting so close to Hell perimeters. Sadly little as the female knew, she was in the canyon, well within the Hell territory. If it hadn't been for that useless hunter, failing to return with a decent catch, well she wouldn't be out here doing it herself thats for sure. No where was more dangerous for the Heaven Beta to be, than unknowingly lurking on Hell soil, oh Cyone would kill her, that's if Malevolent, Hell's alpha, didn't kill her first. Dallas returned to stripping her kill. She separated the heard of deer on the plains, most of them leaping through the water of Drei river to the other side, Dallas had stupidly followed, her target clean in her sights.
Feeling uncomfortable, she abandoned her kill, she needed to get back to Heaven pack, there were things she needed to sort out and some catching up to do with Cyone. Dallas slunk back up the canyon towards to plains, she didn't realise she had come this far in, she kept close to the wall, her head and tail lowered, trying to draw as little attention as possible. She started to mentally kick herself for being so stupid as to come out past the damn river, she was supposed to be the clever one, the logical one, yet now she found herself at a lost end. She carried on wards, she breathed a small sign of relief when she saw a flash of green from the plains, but it was still miles off yet, and she still had to get out of the canyons. She wished she could stop being so prideful, it was that, her pride that got her here, the pride of her hunting skills. Pride the worst sin of all and now she was paying for it, she just hoped to get back across the river in once piece. She started to run now, wanting to escape from her follower, she was not frightened, but she didn't want to fight, she just hoped that who ever it was, when they caught up, she could out smart them.
