regular, speech, thoughts, other(s) The sun shone through the trees with the waning strength of autumn. The leaves fell from the trees in a silent, gentle cascade of color. Golden, brown, burgundy, and brilliant reds and yellows clung to sleepy branches, and littered the ground making a crackly carpet full of color.
The sunlight filtered through the trees, filling the forest with a golden haze. It danced off of the golden, red, and brown hued leaves that were strewn about the ground and those that still clung to the branches on the trees. Small bugs zipped too and fro through the air going about their buisness, uncaring about the cold that was moving its way across the land, most of them would not live that long anyway. Small critters skittered among the leaves collecting nuts and berries that had fallen, and stocking them in hidey-holes for the long months of winter. A cool breeze blew, just enough to rattle the leaves. It held the scents of fall, and the promise of colder weather to come in the not so distant future.
A lone wolf sat at the base of a large oak. She wasn't big or intimidating as some, and had a gentleness about her even in her silent stillness. Her body was small and feminine, though the strength was clear as well. She was full of stubbornness, and determination, something that was clear as you looked into her golden amber eyes.
At the moment those eyes were taking in all that was around her small slender frame. The trees, the leaves, the way the sunlight filtered through the canopy above her head. She watched in interest as bugs zipped to and fro in the air around her. Squirrels and other small critters scampered here and there gathering food for the winter that was soon to come. They would be safe in their hide-holes as the sheets of sparkling white coated the earth.
This was her favorite time of year. The beauty of it took her attention and held it, until the snow came to replace the glory that was fall. Slowly and lazily Riversong got to her feet, and began to wander once again. She had gone hunting for her pack earlier in the day, and planned to go again before going back. But for now, she was just wandering for the joy of it.
Her eyes closed as the sun kissed her pelt. dappling the gray, black, and white flecked fur with touches of golden color and warmth. She was beautiful, and the fact that she was oblivious to it made her all the more attractive.
Riversong had awoken as the first rays of the great ball of light in the sky had kissed the earth. It had been cold enough to see her breath billowing out of her delicate nostrils as if she had a fire in her belly. She almost wished she had just that as a shiver shook her small and slender frame. She had taken a trip to a place that she knew of that was a wonderous spot to watch the sun rise. Coming up over the horizon in all different hues, ranging from brilliant red and orange to dep purples and vibrant pinks. Normally she would have gone to the bluffs, but at the moment they were flooded, and it did not look as if the waters were going to recede any time soon. But it was alright, all was well in her little world. The sun shone bright and cheery, and it had warmed up a bit. Who knew, maybe she would even find a friend while she was out here.

AsheFrom them a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken: The crownless again shall be King.
Shrill bird calls pierced the quiet aura of the woodland, somehow mingling together in wondrous fits of music. Melody called louder than its loyal partner, of which kept the beat in the undertones of notes and rests. Not unlike most creatures of the forest, nature’s personal aviators were active in preparation for the cold months. Some rested in wait for migration, while others picked about the foliage for food and nesting needs. Their pretty colors fluttered in the wind, blending into the trees as they disappeared into the organism’s faithful branches. Most of these vivid creatures would die in the coming months, but those who made it through would compete for rights to the young.
Moist dirt slipped between Ashe’s paws, similar to the way a slug may feel if you were unfortunate enough to step on one. Rain hadn’t been especially abundant, but the thick canopy of large leafed trees hid the ground from the sun’s warmth. Leaves littered the ground here, creating a patchwork of dull reds and vibrant yellows amongst the underbrush. Even there, between the crevices of dead greenery there was life, frantically digging beneath the surface as the light colored wolf picked her way across them. It was not in her place, the she-wolf noted inwardly, to kill such harmless creatures. With this in mind, her paws avoided what they could, silently sending those she unknowingly killed with an automated prayer.
Ashe was the prime example of what one would think of the wolf pack – at least in some ways. It had been a careful decision to join her new home, and more out of necessity than desire for socialization or family. No, she had had that once, and had little desire to take part in it once more. However, the values of Earth pack had attracted her to it, as they believed in being one with nature, much like she did. Unlike most others in her relatively new affiliation, Ashe did not bother much with emotion. In fact, those peering in would see nothing but a black void; empty of happiness, fear, sadness, or otherwise. To some, this would be a depressing existence – but to someone as apathetic as Ashe, depression was never really a threat.
But there had been a time when love had been in her life. As a pup, she had never played like the rest, or giggled when an adult tickled her belly. Instead, having been almost infatuated with her brother (whom she followed almost everywhere), Ashe had busied herself with the more difficult things in life: a natural born intellectual. She still retained such a quality. Now, though, it was used to protect others kin. The she-wolf would most likely never have offspring. After all, who would take a mate who couldn’t care less about you?
These were the thoughts, whispering calmly in the complicated tunnels that were the brain. It was there, in the hidden ditches of her mind, that they would huddle together and forever remain as memories and ghosts. Ashe’s eyelashes fluttered like butterfly wings as sunlight struck her pupils rather harshly, stemming from the thinning of trees into an open clearing of sorts. Settled in the center was a boulder of medium size, which did nothing but bring the memories that brought her torment. Even so, the she-wolf’s expression remained nonexistent as a chilled breeze sent goose bumps down her spine. As her paws met the stone in a graceful leap, warmth flooded her body in the light of the sun. It crept through her stomach as she lay there, quieting any raging thoughts that may have prodded at her mind. This was peace, in the darkness of her closed eyelids and ever-listening ears.

regular, speech, thoughts, other(s) As River trotted through the forest, she let her mind wander. It roamed over a whole range of things, and them back to the wonders of the forest. The colors of the leaves, the light of the sun filtering down, the skittering of small things on the ground, all of it was amazing to her. All of her senses reatched out, and felt her surroundings.
Her eyes saw the brilliant colors of the autumn day. Her ears heard the birds that had not yet flown to warmer places, and those that would stay singing in the trees. Some a happy song, some a discussion of great and important things that needed to be done to leave to a winter home. Her nose brought in the smell of earth that was settling down to sleep beneath a blanket of leaf clutter. Everything having a scent of its own in this wonderous land. Rivers brain automatically taking the smells apart and putting them into the categories that they went in without her concious thought. The earth was cold and yet soft beneath her paws, the leaves giving it a spongy quality.
As she enjoyed the things around her, a rabbit hopped out of the underbrush a few meters ahead of her. Crouching, she snuck up on it an quickly took its life, stopping to send a prayer for the soul that she had disturbed. Taking her catch carfully in her mouth, she padded to what looked like a small clearing to enjoy it. As she neared it she could see that there was a boulder in the middle of it, and a pretty female lupine rested upon it in a patch of sun. River stood at the edge of the clearing debating wether or not to disturb the peaceful looking lady.
