She remembred her account with the alpha had been short and to the point. She heard Celia had got her ass beat by Ghost and now they won't leave each other alone. WHat a weird thing right?

River's tail beat the ground for a moment in happiness. She had a friend, a true and real friend. She had a hard time believing it. She couldn't understand why somone like Ember would want to be friends with somone like her, but she was glad for it.
"I have not truly met him yet, only in passing. Somone like that has no reason to pay any attention to me. What do you think of him?"

Ember smiled as she asked her back.
I mean, he's nice enough. But I was not int he best of moods that day we met, and me and him got off on the wrong paw. So i don't know exactly how that goes though.
She smiled and shook the leaves out of her black coat. Speaking once more she looked to the skies.
I wish Celia would be a better sister. I would of loved to have an older sister to follow, yet I wouldn't follow her in a bet.

River looked at the other wolf and smiled, then pretended to be intereste in something on the ground. He words came out as just a murmur.
"I always wished that I had a sister. I always thought that it would be nice to have somone like that to share everything with and have fun with. I always imagined that she would be something like you."
River's eyes widened in shock, and her jaws clicked together. She had not meant to say it. She looked once again to see how Ember would react to her run away mouth.

Ember just stared as word tumbled from River's mouth.. Then she smiled and spoke sincerely.
Don't be scared to say your mind River. I always wanted a sister like you, but I got stuck with this Hell derived sister. Don't be ashamed
Ember put on a smile, and shrugged.
WHo says we can't be like sisters?

River gave Ember a small smile, she was glad that the black wolf had found her here among the leaves.
"I am used to having to hide my thoughts. No one wants to know what I think or feel. Like I said, I am not the owner of many friends. I do not want to scare you away with my ramblings and thoughts. I like you far too much to annoy you."
She gave a small laugh with her last words.

Ember smiled and nodded in understanding. Her hunger was back and she spoke with a smile.
You hungry RIver? I could find us some grub
It was a natural Earth wolf gesture of hers. She always offered to get food for everyone in her company. Ember sighed mentally, she had hit it off wrong with the alpha. She really liked him, damnit

River's stomach gave a small growl as if to prove her point. She tilted her head to the side and looked at Ember through shining amber eyes.

Ember smiled and started to walk off. Her green eyes scanning for food. A doe was limping alone not too far ahead and Ember motioned for River to move to the other side and help her take it down. Ember snuck up along the side and ran at it. Hr muscles bunched and stretched as she lept for the doe. The doe reacted and Ember stretched farther, latching onto the does back, She hoped River had gotten the throat.

River followed Ember as she wandered deeper into the forest. She caught the scent and saw the deer just as Ember did and looked to see what way she would move. Wmber stalked to the left, around the backside of the deer leaving the front open to her.
Riversong stalked around the front of the deer undetected, her muscles bunched ready to spring. As Ember jumped, River's paws left the ground at the same time. She felt her ivories hit their mark, and pierce the delicate skin of the deer's throat. Within seconds it was laying on the ground, unmoving. River let go of her grip, and looked up to see where Ember had gone.

Ember felt the deer collapse and jumped back. River had hit her mark. Smiling, she licked off the crimson red liquid and spoke softly.
Good job River. YOu make an exceptional hunter.
She leaned down and ripped into the hindquarter of the doe. The doe had a broken hind leg, which hinted why she had been limping so bad. The meat hit her stomach and she smiled in satisfaction.

River smiled at the other wolf's compliment.
"Thank you, so do you."
River took a bite of the kill and then paused, sitting there just staring at it. There was a look of concentration on her face. Slowly she got to her feet and walked around to look at the doe's injured leg, sure enough where it was broken there were teeth marks.
The scent hit her a moment before she knew what it was. Sudenly the marks on the leg and the scent clicked into place in her brain and a low growl escaped her throat. Hackles raised and teeth bared, Riversong whipped around and found what she had hoped she was just imagining. A few yards away stood a large forest cat, and it did not look the least bit friendly.

Ember saw the cat and a deep growl left her maw. She stood over the doe in defense. The cat yowled and came running at Ember. In defense of River, Ember leapt and met the cat. They tumbled and Ember pinned it. It clawed her stomach and she yelped. The pain was fueling her anger, she was not used to the anger she was having now. Roaring in anger, Ember pushed down hard on the cats throat, it coughed and yowled. She was choking it to death....

River watched as Ember and the cat clashed in midair and fell to the ground. When she heard Ember yelp in pain, she looked for a way into the fray. Ember was on top of the cat, choking the like from it. River was in a rage. It had hurt her friend and now it had to pay.
Without a second thought, Riversong ran to the cat's head and grabbed the side of it's throat catching the artery that ran there. As she did so, the cat whipped it's head to the side and bit deep into her shoulder. As River's teeth went deeper, she felt the satisfying rush of blood in her mouth and on her muzzle, and growled softly.
When the even was over, she let go and looked frantically up at Ember. She had to know how bad her new found friend was hurt. Her voice was urgent and commanding, yet gentle.
"Show me. Lay down and show me your wounds."

Ember nodded and rolled onto her back. THere were deep claw marks, blood was pouring out. It hurt to breathe in and out. Her breathing was labored as she tried to steady it. Nothing was hurt except her stomach. It hurt so bad, she whimpered and tucked her tail. The pain was unbearable was she waited for River's examination.
