The sun shone through the trees with the waning strength of autumn. The leaves fell from the trees in a silent, gentle cascade of color. Golden, brown, burgundy, and brilliant reds and yellows clung to sleepy branches, and littered the ground making a crackly carpet full of color.
A lone wolf sat at the base of a large oak. She wasn't big or intimidating as some, and had a gentlness about her even in her silent stillness. Her body was small and femanine, though the strength was clear as well. She was full of stubborness, and determination, something that was clear as you looked into her golden amber eyes.
At the moment those eyes were taking in all that was around her small slender frame. The trees, the leaves, the way the sunlight filtered through the canopy above her head. She watched in interest as bugs zipped to and fro in the air around her. Squirrels and other small critters scamppered here and there gathering food for the winter that was soon to come. They would be safe in their hidey-holes as the sheets of sparkling white coated the earth.
This was her favorite time of year. The beauty of it took her attention and held it, untill the snow came to replace the glory that was fall. Slowly and lazily Riversong got to her feet, and began to wander once again. She had gone hunting for her pack earlier in the day, and planned to go again before going back. But for now, she was just wandering for the joy of it.
Her eyes closed as the sun kissed her pelt. dappling the gray, black, and white flecked fur with touches of golden color and warmth. She was beautiful, and the fact that she was oblivious to it made her all the more attractive.
Who knows, maybe I will find a friend among the leaves
She laughed to herself. She didn't have female friends, most were jealous of her looks, though she didn't understand why. Her mood fell slightly at the thought. Maybe some day, somone would take the time and she would get the friend that she wanted so badly.

Ember was not ready to be a full blown warrior like Celia. Everyone calld her wimpy, but truly, she just didn't like killing if not for a good reason. Her ebony coat glimmered in the sun that was filtering through the trees. The leaves blocking most of it, yet they were falling ever slowly. Their bodies drifting to the ground slowly,ever slowly. She had no clue why she was here, something had lead her here today. Her emerald green eyes scanned the forest for answers, as her long legs walked her across the leave littered ground. Ember hated winter, it made her stick out like a sore thumb among the white flakes across the grounds.
Pawsteps, ever quiet, moved into her auds and she smiled. Maybe a friend was here today? Choosing the direction, she moved into the forest slowly. As she approached, she saw a beautiful grey and white wolfess. Ember almost gasped outloud at her looks. She knew she was pretty too, but she loved to be in the company of the pretty.
HEllo, I am Ember. A warrior. Nice to meet you
HEr voice was melodic, but not snappy or stuck-up. THat was not how Ember acted at all. She hoped this wolf was the same.

Riversong turned at the sound of paw steps and a melodic voice, a slight smile and a serene and welcoming look on her face. The wolf before her was a beautiful ebony with bright and friendly green eyes. Riversong felt a thrill of excitement run through her, maybe she was a future friend. Maybe, maybe not. She is much to pretty to be hanging around with me... she thought to herself.
Hello, I am Ember. A warrior. Nice to meet you
"I am Riversong, a hunter. I am glad to meet you Ember."
River's voice was soft and smooth. It was gentle and light, but held the ability to be strong. Her eyes sparkled as she looked back at the other female, a smile on her face. She hope beyond all hope that Ember would decide to keep her around for a while, she was quite tired of being alone.

Ember smiled at Riversong. A beautiful name indeed, for such a pretty wolfess. Walking a few steps closer, she was still ready to leave if not invited to stay.
Well River, If I may, What are you doing alone? I know you have to have many wolves wanting to a friend of such a pretty one like yourself? If you'd lik I could keep you company?
She didn't want to sound too creepish, but she wanted to sound caring and loving. Ember had wanted a good girlfriend and she felt this would be the one. Staring at River, she couldn't believe she wasn't mated yet. She was so pretty, it was surprising a male hadn't snatched her heart yet. AGain, most males are just stupid and want a one night stand, so again maybe she wasn't surpised. Ember laughed at that and smiled warmly as she moved closer.

Well River, If I may, What are you doing alone? I know you have to have many wolves wanting to a friend of such a pretty one like yourself? If you'd lik I could keep you company?
Riversong looked at the ground and shuffled her feet.
"No, I do not have any friends actually. Most of the females ar too jelous to pay me musch mind, though I don't know why. And all of the males are only looking for one thing, I want love, not just... 'fun'. I would be glad if you would be willing to share your company with me though. I spend a lt of my time alone and I would like that to change."
River smiled at Emer exposing her ivories in a full out grin. She didn't want the other female to know just how desperate she was to have somone that she could spend time with and share things with, She wanted what all of the other females in the pack seemed to have. They walked around in pairs or in groups laughing and sharing stories and gossip. They had others to help them with their problems and listen to their conserns. River hoped with all her heart that her and Ember could be that for eachother.

Ember smiled back and walked to the females side happily. HEr heart swelled with joy.
They don't deserve your friendship then. ANd the males don't deserve your heart. I am the same, males only want fun and games. I want a true mate to love and cherish. I think we will get along well my friend
Ember laughed whole heartedly and then smiled at River. She was liking her already and it had only been a little bit. River was someone who obviously was left alone a lot. Ember was someone to comfort when it was needed. She had not met andy males but the Alpha...and truly...she didn't like him much.

Riversong smiled and her chest filled with joy at the word friend. It seemed that Ember was excepting her, even after the short time. River turned to her with sparkling eyes.
"What brought you out here Ember? I am glad to have met you."

Ember perked at her question. Her green eyes glowing as she spoke.
My gut told me to come here. I could guess you are the reason haha. I hope, I dont think anyone else is here. So have you met my sister Celia?
She had hoped not because Celia was a pain in the ass and she hated her. But rumor had it she was getting all buddy buddy with the alpha.

River looked at Ember to try and read her face as she asked the question.

"No, I have not had the...er,um... pleasure of meeting Celia yet.
From what River had heard she did not particularly wish to. Celia had already crossed Ghost, the Alpha, and she had not desire to get to know a trouble maker.

Ember sighed gratefully.
Well I heard, her and Ghost are getting pretty close now. I hope he dosen't mate her and her become the alpha female. Imagine how the Earth pack would be then.
Ember scoffed and sat beside River. If anything he needed someone like Ember or River to help run this peaceful pack. He wanted Celia though....What was wrong with his head? She had attacked him and now he wouldn't leave her? Psh whatever, Ember didn't care...But really on the inside she did.

River didn't want to offend the other female, but she felt comfortable speakng her mind, and it squeaked out of her lips. She watched anxiously to see how Ember would react to her declaration. The anxiety was clear in her bright amber eyes.

Ember scoffed at Rain. Not fit dosen't cut it, Celia belongs in the Hell pack if anything. Ember hated her sister out of jealousy. Her sister was always the perfect little suck up. THe perfect warrior for the pack.
You don't know the half of it. She is evil, coniving, slutty...Hell she is messing with Nemesis too. He is a rogue...What a whore.
She had not meant for the last sentence to fall out but it did...Maybe it was the truth?

River lifted a delicate brow at the ebony female before her. Obviously she had nothing to worry about, it was not likely that she was going to offend Ember in respect to her sister. There was clearly no love lost between the two of them.
"Then maybe it is good that I have not met her. I am not one to cause a problem, but she sounds like she is a problem. I have no patience for those kinds of games, and I am not fond of kissing ass nor watching others do it. Around somone like that I just might not be able to hold my tongue."
River blushed, she was suprised at her own ouspokeness. She was not one to hold back if asked her opinion or if she saw something that was wrong. But it was very rare that she volenteered and opinion as she had just done.

Yea, she would go right through to your last nerve...She is hunting me out but I am good at evading.
This was true, Ember was excellent at vanishing into thin air, and this was why she was a warrior. SHe could take down prey silently asnd effectively. THis was how she worked, how she lived as a pack loner.

River grinned at her. She meant what she had said, she really hoped that Ember would not decide that she was to be avoided. She liked being in the company of the pretty black wolf, and hoped to keep her as a friend for a long time to come.
